Helion OpenStack Beta Announced at HP Discover

HP and Intel Team on OpenStack Project

The HP Helion team announced the beta of the HP Helion OpenStack product at HP Discover. Both Intel and HP have contributed extensively to the OpenStack open source project.

 Interview guests Johnathan Donaldson, Intel GM Software Defined Infrastructure and Michael Aday, Director – Technical Partners at HP Helion show how this teamwork has led to extensive cooperation on the project and its foundational role in the HP Helion cloud portfolio.

 HP and Intel have been major contributors to Linux, Chrome, and Android in addition to Openstack. Intel has a major group of developers employed on open source enablement. In addition, HP has six full time employees within OpenStack, accelerating OpenStack’s development.

 Grafitti is a way to decorate resources within OpenStack has been a major focus for HP, accepted into a major resource called Glance that will be in the next release. Intel has been working on security, trusted compute, ease of installation and upgrade, and high availability for enterprise use cases.
