Software Defined Networking Switch
HP’s Jeff Lim, Senior Manager of Data Center Technical Marketing at HP provides an overview of the latest upgrades to the HP Data Center Switch 12900, a next-generation modular data center core switch designed to support virtualized data centers and the evolving needs of private and public cloud deployments. HP just released a series of modules expanding up to a 12 port 40Gb module for the system. The system also supports OpenFlow.
The switch Series includes 10-slot and 16-slot chassis, ready for software-defined networking (SDN).
The SERDES connections on the latest additions to the platform introduced at InterOp start at 10.5Gb/sec, resulting in 8.65Gb per connection.
