Real World Patching Has Some Gaps
Brandon Meyer of Trend Micro presented an interesting survey at VMUG Chicago, – looking at the real world activity that occurs in applying patches to physical or virtual machines. Trend Micro provides the ability to block the vulnerability at the network level, before it reaches the actual machine. This allows protection without reboot of the OS on the systems. The Trend Micro agent-less product works with over 100 applications.
